Chiseling type firewood preparation machine
Cutting and splitting is one cycle
The firewood processor has become the concept of making firewood in Finland. The machine is fool-proof and very durable. It cuts and splits the wood at the same time, quickly and efficiently. More than 7500 machines have been built and sold so far. The machine is fairly unknown in Estonia and Europe. Its mainly known in Finland, Sweden and Germany.
It works off a tractor three point connection port. After that the machine is connected to the tractors PTO shaft. The base model KT 200-3 needs approx. 25 Kw of rating power. The log length is adjustable between 25-70 cm. Stiff and hard wood like oak, rowan and beech should be cut when they are lately harvested.
The machine is easy to use. The wood is placed on the feeding bunk and then fed through the cutting hole. Inside the machine is a big gearwheel what rotates on a shaft. On the gearwheel are two cutting blades and a support bracket for the axe. There are cutting blades also attached to the machine frame feeding hole. Basically a scissor effect is created. With the first cut, the wood is split into two logs.
It is possible to cut and split the wood into 4 logs. With the first cut the axe leaves a crack along the wood. After the cut the wood is rotated at 90 degrees and cut again. This way we get 4 logs. Continue the same cycle until the wood is cut. Be careful with the last cut.
The machine is different from other firewood processors because it does not saw wood, but cuts and spits it. This way the wood pulps won't be closed. It dries faster and it is easier to light up. Our proposed firewood processor is the first of its kind ever invented.
The structure of the machine is long lasting and simple. The cutting blades are made from metal, hardox 400. Main frame is constructed from 10 mm steel. Machine weight is variable between models - 550-580 kg and 690-810 kg with the electric motors. The conveyors are available in 3m, 4m and now new 4 m telescope witch saves space by transporting and storing. Conveyor's are 240 mm and 440 mm wide. The machine will last well in rough conditions and collective usage. It is almost maintenance free. Before and after using the machine it should be greased as described in the users manual. This will keep the machine in tact and extend machines lifetime. We do not recommend making any modifications to our firewood processors.
Another useful thing is that you don't have to bring the wood out of the forest but you can bring the machine to the forest. It's small and compact, no electricity and fuzz. Leave the firewood in the forest to dry or transport them on a conveyor directly into a wheelbarrow.
The firewood processor has also found its place on building sites. There are always wooden pieces and other used wooden material that usually goes to the scrap yard. The firewood processor provides the perfect solution. It cuts boards with nails in it and also any other wooden material max. 205 mm of diameter. It easily handles wood covered in concrete and sand. Almost everything made of wood can be cut and can be used as firewood.
